Competition: Belarusian Cup Final
Market: BATE Borisov win
Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365
With the first piece of silverware up for grabs this weekend, league leaders and high-flyers BATE will meet a struggling Dinamo Minsk in the Belarusian Cup Final on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the Premier League leaders, putting in what was yet another rampant display last week and picking up a 3-1 romp away at Sunday’s opponents while on top-flight duties, the mood in BATE’s comp continues to soar. Already holding a four-point buffer at the top of the table and with a silverware sweep on their agenda, the Yellows have won their last six matches across all competitions and have a growing reputation for their clinical displays in the final third. Blowing away Brest last time out, the European outfit have now recorded 14 goals in their previous four victories and one man to watch out for this weekend will be leading marksman, Nemanja Milić. Finding the net over the weekend, the 29-year-old has recorded four strikes in his last three appearances.
As for a struggling Dinamo Brest, completely outplayed by BATE on Premier League duties last weekend and hit with a 3-1 defeat, the defending champions find themselves in the midst of a real sluggish patch. Also flattering to deceive and struck with a 2-1 loss against Energetyk-BGU earlier in the month, Sergey Kovalchuk’s side have now lost five of their last seven matches across all competitions and have continued to show a string off issues while away from the Stadyen DASK Brestski. Including shipping four goals away at Shakhtyor last month, Brest have lost three of their last four matchups on the road and the mood in their camp remains at a worrying low. Someway off mounting any kind of title charge once again this season, Brest could be in for another overwhelming test in Sunday’s Cup Final.
