According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Crystal Palace are in talks with Chelsea to re-sign striker Michy Batshuayi on a season-long loan.
The expectation is that he will sign a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge prior to making the switch over to Selhurst Park, which makes sense, given that his current contract is due to expire next summer.
That still makes it seem as if Chelsea are simply kicking the can down the road with this issue, simply waiting it out before they determine whether or not they want to use Batshuayi as a consistent member of the starting XI.
The Eagles will obviously try and build their attack around him moreso than the Blues will, and in that sense, it does make it seem as if there is only one way this is going to end – with the Belgian returning to Palace. Either way, they’ll want to try and get some kind of resolution before the new season begins this weekend.
