(GSM) – Bayer Leverkusen beat Rosenborg 4-0 in a convincing UEFA Europa League performance on Thursday, while Atletico Madrid crashed 1-0 at Aris.
As the Europa League kicked off for Group B, Bayer Leverkusen did not need long to make a difference with Rosenborg, who only recently were close to a spot in the Champions League group phase.
Patrick Helmes put the German outfit in the lead after four minutes, and the hosts had their advantage doubled by Stefan Reinartz in the 38th.
Helmes had something more left up his sleeve as he netted twice more, in the 58th and 61st minute, to complete a hat-trick.
Atletico Madrid failed to convince in Greece and ended up losing 1-0 at Aris. The only goal of the match came from Spanish attacker Javito in the 59th minute.
