Bayer Leverkusen are set to sign defender Dani Carvajal from Real Madrid, AS has revealed.
The German giants are searching for a new right-back after Vedran Corluka’s loan deal ended in June and they have set their sights on Real Madrid youngster Dani Carvajal.
AS claims die Werkself have offered €8 million for the 20-year-old defender and the negotiations have entered the final stage.
Real Madrid initially wanted the talented full-back to act as a cover for Alvaro Arbeloa, but with Brazilian Maicon set to arrive to Santiago Bernabeu, los Blancos opted to accept an offer from Bayer.
Nonetheless, they will have the option to buy the player back during the first two years of his contract for €9.5 million.
The clause in his contract will allow Real Madrid to re-sign the player at a cut-back price should he manage to prove his potential at Bay Arena.
