Bayern Munich and Arsenal have shown their interest in Bolton defender Gary Cahill having sent emissaries to check on the England international.
Both Bayern and Arsenal had their scouts watch the England international play for Bolton at Old Trafford and they look ready to test Bolton’s resolve with summer bids.
As Cahil closes in on his last year of contract at Reebok, cash-strapped Bolton are likely to cash in on their most prized asset next summer, with the long list of admirers set to materialize their interest.
Bayern Munich are expected to lead the race as they are desperate to improve their shaky defence that has been the reason behind most of the problems this season.
Arsene Wenger has long been admiring the Bolton defender and he, too, will be looking to add more quality to the back line in the summer.
Bolton’s £18 million valuation of the player might be too high considering that Cahill’s contract is set to expire in June 2012, but given the heavy interest in his services, the Trotters are likely to significantly improve their financial situation should they decide to sell the 25-year-old defender.
