According to ESPN, Bayern Munich look set to make a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
However, Madrid will apparently only allow this to happen should Bastian Schweinsteiger be allowed to move in the opposite direction.
Khedira played a part in the Spanish side’s La Liga triumph last season and was also an influential figure for Germany at Euro 2012.
The 25-year-old started just 20 games in the league last season though so may be looking to move on to guarantee first team football, especially as he is now entering the biggest years of his career.
The German international could welcome a return to his home nation and is set to be given the chance to play a more attacking role than he does at Real, which he is suggested to prefer.
Bayern must weigh up their options though as they would surely be reluctant to let one of their best players leave the Allianz Arena, especially as they know they must strengthen to regain their Bundesliga title from Borussia Dortmund.
The Bayern man could be interested in this move though as he looks to really show he is one of the best players around.
Whatever happens, this really is a massive story and one to keep an eye on in this summer’s transfer window.
