Bayern and Wolfsburg keep tabs on Basel wonderkid

FC Basel striker Breel Embolo has caught the eye of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, Sport Bild can reveal.

The two sides are among a number of clubs keeping close tabs on the 17-year-old striker and they are closely monitoring the forward’s performances with a view to luring him to Germany in the future.

Despite his fragile age, Embolo is already considered a first team regular at FC Basel and has so far made 29 competitive appearances for the Swiss giants.

The youngster has been in fine form this season, scoring 10 goals in 18 competitive outings, starting four of five Champions League matches for the club.

Embolo appears to be on the verge of being handed his debut for the senior Switzerland side, with boss Vladimir Petkovic recently meeting with the talented footballer.

The forward currently has a deal until June 2017 with FC Basel, but his employers clearly face an uphill task to ward off interest from Europe’s top clubs.
