Bayern, Barcelona vying for Pjanic

Sky Sport Italia is reporting that European powerhouses Bayern Munich and Barcelona are locked in the battle for AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

The Bosnia star has largely impressed since joining the Giallorossi from Lyon four years ago, and he is now heavily linked with a big club move.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Bayern Munich scouts watched the 25-year-old in action as Bayer Leverkusen played host to AS Roma yesterday evening, with Pjanic scoring a marvellous free-kick goal to help his side earn a 4-4 draw, while also setting up Daniele De Rossi earlier in the game.

The Bavarians could face stiff competition for the player’s signature from Barcelona, who hold a long-standing interest in the attacking midfielder.

Miralem Pjanic has been in excellent form at the start of the new season, having managed four goals and as many assists in first seven Serie A games, and his excellent displays clearly did not go unnoticed.
