According to Bild, Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has stated that his talks with Robert Lewandowski were highly inspirational. The Polish forward supposedly asked to leave the club earlier in the summer, but Kovac praised the way that Lewandowski conducted his business. At this point it seems as if everything has been resolved, as the attention switches to what Bayern are capable of this season.
In terms of the talks it seems as if Lewandowski was adamant about leaving, but after some persuasion, made the decision to stay. He’s already established himself as one of the top forwards in European football over the course of the last few years, and at this stage, it seems as if his biggest focus is creating a legacy for himself that will lead to fans around the world calling him one of the best strikers of his generation – which, in many ways, he is.
