Bayern Munich are close to reaching an agreement with Napoli defender Kim Min-jae, according to Fabrizio Romano. Once the two parties get to where they want to be in their talks, there would be no need to discuss a price with the Serie A champions – there is a release clause in his contract, set to kick in at the start of July.
The 47-cap South Korea international joined Napoli at the start of the season from Fenerbahce, for a reported fee of around €18 million. He made a total of 45 appearances in all competitions in 2022/23, scoring two goals and providing two assists as the team under the command of Luciano Spalletti strode to the Scudetto in a very dominant fashion.
Manchester United and Newcastle have both been credited with strong interest in taking the 26-year-old to the Premier League, but it seems Bayern have acted more decisively. The Bavarians have presented their project to Kim and his representatives, and it seems the player is truly tempted by the prospect of moving to Munich.
