Bayern close on Julian Brandt

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are stepping up their efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Julian Brandt, according to Sport Bild.

The Bavarians have long been hot on the trail of the 20-year-old footballer and they seem to have persuaded the youngster to move to Allianz Arena in the summer.

All that’s left to do is for Bayern to wait for Brand’s €12.5 million release clause to come into effect at the end of the season and wrap up the deal.

While the likes of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are also keen, the youngster seems to have set his sighs on joining the Bavarians, although Bayer Leverkusen are still trying to persuade the attacker to sign a new deal, in which case said clause would no longer be in effect.

Julian Brandt has done pretty well this season, having managed 2 goals and 6 assists in 23 Bundesliga outings.
