According to the Independent, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United this summer and they believe a deal for the Portuguese playmaker to swap Old Trafford for the Allianz Arena is possible.
At the age of 29, Fernandes is said to be getting frustrated with United’s inability to compete against the top sides in the Premier League and is keen to win major trophies on a regular basis at what he feels is the prime of his career. And with United planning a thorough overhaul of the squad, they will obviously need to sell big in order to comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rule requirements. This is where Bayern see their chance, and Fernandes’ potential transfer would likely be a crucial moment for keeping Thomas Tuchel, who wants a new creative midfielder in his ranks, in charge of the team past the summer.
As one the few signings over the last couple of years that has produced desired results, Fernandes would not leave United without a large fee, but Bayern, who also intend to obtain significant reinforcements this summer, do not see that as a problem.
