Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has added fuel to speculations linking the Bavarians with a summer move for Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter.
The Bundesliga giants are believed to be keeping close tabs on the talented centre-back, and the Spanish coach has all but confirmed he is looking to lure the 20-year-old to Alianz Arena.
“(Ginter is) A good player,” Guardiola confessed to Bild.
However, it appears as though the Bavarians will not be stepping up their interest next summer, but rather want to wait for another year before attempting to sign the Freiburg hotshot.
Ginter has a contract until June 2017 at Mage Solar Stadion and he insists he is perfectly happy at his current club.
Despite his fragile age, the stopper long ago established himself as a first team regular at Freiburg and has so far amassed 56 Bundesliga appearances.
He is currently an important member of Germany Under-21 side and it shouldn’t be long before he is handed a full international debut.
