Bayern Munich have made contact with Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel over the vacant managerial post at the Allianz Arena, according to Sky in Germany.
A recent report from France suggested he wasn’t on Bayern’s shortlist, but apparently, the Bundesliga champions, who sacked Niko Kovač from the job on Monday due to a string of underwhelming results, have now inquired about the availability of Tuchel both now and in the summer of 2020. The response they got from the Ligue 1 side was that the former Borussia Dortmund coach would remain at the Parc Des Princes for the rest of the 2019/20 campaign, and that the situation afterwards would depend on the results he achieves.
Apart from Tuchel, Bayern have been linked with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag but the Dutchman explicitly stated he would not be leaving Amsterdam at this point. Another name that has been mentioned is Jose Mourinho, but the Portuguese, who has been out of managerial work since his sacking from Manchester United last December, would apparently prefer a return to England according to some reports, while others claim he is waiting for a call from Real Madrid.
