Bayern sporting department has moved to confirm that the club are on the lookout for a new striker at the moment.
The Bavarians were desperately short of quality options up front in the Champions League clash against Celtic as Robert Lewandowski was missing through injury.
Bayern haven’t had a quality replacement for the Poland star in the last couple of years, but they finally seem ready to address the issue.
Namely, both sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge have confirmed a new striker may be recruited in January.
“We are looking around,” Salihamidzic told Bild, whereas Rummenigge said: “If the sporting department has an idea, I am open to it.”
With Thomas Muller not exactly on top of his game, signing a quality striker to help Robert Lewandowski is definitely a sensible thing to do.
