Bayern Munich easily survived their DFB Pokal match with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, beating the 2.Bundesliga side 5-0 at the Allianz-Arena.
An own goal from Daniel Embers helped the Bavarians to a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute, and Mario Gomez doubled the gap nine minutes later.
Daniel van Buyten (2) and Thomas Müller netted in the second half for a 5-0 victory. Italian Luca Toni made an appearance as well, replacing Gomez shortly after the hour.
Arminia Bielefeld were surprisingly knocked out by Regionalliga side Eintracht Trier, who won 4-2 after extra time.
Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund advanced with 0-3 wins over VfL Bochum and Karlsruhe respectively, and Hoffenheim earned a narrow 0-1 win at Nürnberg.
