A delegation from Bayern Munich, led by sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, has traveled for face-to-face talks with the relevant people at Liverpool over the proposed transfer of Sadio Mane, according to Paul Joyce of The Times.
The Bundesliga champions have already seen two bids for the Senegalese forward rejected, the first amounting to £25 million and the second supposedly consisting of a £23.5m as a guaranteed part of the fee, and £6.5 million in add-ons to take the total potential fee up to £30m. However, the whole amount of the proposed add-ons would only be triggered if Bayern were to win the Bundesliga in each season with Mane in their ranks and if he won the Ballon d’Or in each of the upcoming three seasons.
Mane has apparently already agreed personal terms on a three-year deal with Bayern, and though the last proposal from the Bavarians was deemed laughable on Merseyside, there is obviously a willingness to proceed with the talks.
Liverpool have already signed a player who could replace Mane in their ranks in Darwin Nunez, paying £64m straight up with £21m to possibly follow through add-ons.
