Bayern Munich are showing interest in Atletico Madrid stopper Diego Godin, France Football has revealed.
Considering that Daniel van Buyten is set to leave when his contract expires in June, Pep Guardiola plans to sign a new centre-back.
And France Football understands that Atletico’s Diego Godin is one of the first names on the Spaniard’s hit-list.
The Uruguayan has been a key member of Atletico back line since joining from Villarreal and he even managed to score some very important goals this term.
However, taking into account that Godin has another four years left on his deal at Vicente Calderon, Bayern would certainly have to delve deep into their pockets if they want to get their man.
Should they fail in their attempts to sign the Uruguay international, the Bavarians will turn their attention to Athletic Bilbao starlet Aymeric Laporte, who has a €36 million release clause in his contract.
