Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are showing interest in Torino defenders Matteo Darmian and Nikola Maksimovic, La Gazzetta dello Sport can reveal.
The Bavarians are widely expected to reshuffle the playing squad in the summer transfer window and they are currently working on reinforcements for next season.
It is no secret that Bayern are hot on the trail of Torino full-back Matteo Darmian, who can operate on either side of a four-man defence or play on either wing in a 3-5-2 formation.
That means he is just perfect for Pep Guardiola’s style of play, so no wonder the Spaniard is eager to lure him to Alianz Arena, with the Bavarians scouts having watched the Italy defender in Wednesday’s match with Empoli.
At the same time, Bayern made a check on his Torino teammate Nikola Maksimovic, another versatile defender who has been in fine form this season.
After suffering a 3-0 loss in the first leg of the Champions League semis against Barcelona, the Bavarians are 20/1 chance to qualify for the final.
