Bayern Munich are hoping to complete the signing of Liverpool star Sadio Mane for less than €50 million (£42.5m) this summer, according to Sky Germany.
The Senegal captain turned 30 last month and his contract is about to enter its final 12 months, which apparently makes the Bundesliga champions confident that Liverpool would accept such a fee. Liverpool, on the other hand, aren’t known as a club who let the players they need leave cheap, and with that in mind, Bayern might find their hopes dashed soon. There has been no contact between the two clubs as of yet, but the Bavarians are believed to have spoken to Mane’s representatives on the subject.
Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has subsequently made Mane his primary attacking target with a view of replacing Robert Lewandowski, who is reportedly keen on leaving the Allianz Arena to join Barcelona and like Mane, has a year left on his contract.
Mane himself spoke to Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League final clash with Real Madrid, but he refused to reveal anything ahead of such a crucial match.
“But come back to me on Saturday and I will give you the best answer you want to hear, for sure,” Mane said. “It’s special. I will give you all you want to hear then.”
