Bayern Munich are interested in signing Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old central midfielder, capable of playing both in a box-to-box role and as a No. 6 directly ahead of the back line, is a product of the famous Ajax academy which he joined at the age of seven. He earned a place in the first-team squad in 2019, and since then, he’s gone on to play 91 games for the club, recording 10 goals and 11 assists so far, and helping them win two Eredivisie titles and two Dutch Cups. Having made his senior international debut in March last year, he has 10 caps with Netherlands to his name already.
As he told Dutch outlet AD.nl, Gravenberch has no intention of leaving Ajax as a free agent. He feels it’s only fair for the club to get that has made him as a player to get at least something for his services. With his contract expiring in 2023, it means he’ll either leave in this summer or in January next year, or else sign a new deal.
Gravenberch: “I don’t know if I will leave in the summer. What I do know for sure is that I won’t leave Ajax if they don’t get anything back. I can’t leave on a free transfer. This won’t happen”, he told @ADnl. 🇳🇱 #Ajax
