With the summer transfer window opening soon, Bayern Munich are monitoring the situation with Manchester City defender John Stones, according to Football Insider.
The Bavarians are believed to be closing in on the appointment of Vincent Kompany to replace the departing head coach Thomas Tuchel. Kompany played with Stones at City and is obviously very familiar with the qualities of the 29-year-old England international, and his arrival should open the road for Stones to follow his footsteps to the Allianz Arena.
Stones was one of the first signings City made under Pep Guardiola, paying £50 million to bring take him from Everton. Since then, he’s developed into one of the finest central defenders in the Premier League, fully capable of playing in the middle of the park as well if need be, and established himself as a vital part of the team that has dominated the game in England over the last seven seasons.
