Bayern join chase for Verratti
Bayern Munich are set to challenge Real Madrid for the signature of PSG midfielder Marco Verratti, reports L’Equipe.
The Bavarians see the Italy international as a perfect replacement for Toni Kroos, who is almost certain to leave Alianz Arena this summer.
As a result, Bayern plan to step up their interest in the player in the coming weeks with a view to luring him to Munich in the summer transfer window.
Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti is eager to get reunited with Verratti at Santiago Bernabeu, although the interest could cool off if Real manage to recruit Toni Kroos.
Paris Saint-Germain chiefs were initially reluctant to cash in on their prized asset, but the latest reports suggest they would consider offers in the region of €40 million as that would allow them to make a fresh assault on Paul Pogba.
Marco Verratti, 21, started two games for Italy at the 2014 World Cup, where Germany have been made 8/11 favourites for the trophy following the stunning triumph over Brazil.
Juventus in new assault on Udinese star
Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that Juventus are set to make a move on Udinese midfielder Roberto Pereyra.
The two clubs have done a lot of business over the last few years, with the last two deals seeing Mauricio Isla and Cristian Pasquato move to Turin on permanent basis.
And it would appear as though another transfer is on the horizon as Juventus seem to be stepping up their interest in Roberto Pereyra.
Antonio Conte has been impressed by the player’s versatility and he has instructed the club officials to try and reach an agreement with Udinese.
While the Bianconeri are not exactly prepared to meet the €15 million asking price, they will attempt to lower the amount by including either Luca Marrone or Fausto Rossi in the deal.
Roberto Pereyra, 23, has made a total of 84 Serie A appearances since joining from River Plate, scoring 8 goals in the process.
Jordan Ayew linked with England move
French daily newspaper L’Equipe understands that Marseille forward Jordan Ayew could continue his career in English Premier League.
Having signed Michy Batshuayi and Romain Alessandrini, the French giants now plan to offload several players, with talented forward Jordan Ayew among those expected to leave.
With his contract due to expire in June 2015, Marseille hope to cash in on the youngster for €4 million this summer.
According to L’Equipe, Lille, Saint Etienne and Nice are all keen, as well as clubs from England and Germany.
Jordan Ayew, 22, has shown a great deal of potential since making his senior debut back in 2009, but never quite managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Stade Velodrome.
The talented forward, who made three appearances for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup, had been in fine form during a loan spell with Sochaux last term, bagging 5 goals in 17 league outings.
