Bayern keen on Granit Xhaka
Bild is reporting that Bayern Munich are pondering a bid for Borussia M’gladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.
The Bavarians are actively searching for a successor to Xabi Alonso and it is believed that Joshua Kimmich will be given a chance to impress next season.
However, Bayern also plan to recruit a more experienced holding midfielder, with Granit Xhaka one of the first names on their hit-list.
The 23-year-old has seriously raised his game following the early struggles after arriving from FC Basel, quickly becoming one of the most sought-after footballers in German Bundesliga.
Liverpool and Arsenal are among clubs keeping close tabs on his performances, and next summer could be a perfect time for any interested sides to act.
Namely, since Xhaka’s €25m release clause becomes active in the summer of 2017, Borussia chiefs may decide to cash in on their star player at the end of the season and thus secure the best possible deal.
Benfica in talks for Siqueira
Atletico Madrid defender Guilherme Siqueira could be returning to Estadio da Luz in January, according to Record.
It is no secret that the Eagles are keen on the Brazilian full-back, as their current options on the left flank are far from impressive.
Record has learned that the two clubs recently opened talks over a January transfer, and chances are they will eventually find in agreement.
Having made just one La Liga appearance this season, Guilherme Siqueira is almost certain to leave this winter, and a return to Benfica appears on the cards.
The 29-year-old made a total of 18 league outings for the Eagles during a loan spell in the second part of the 2013/2014 season.
He then went on to join Atletico Madrid the following summer, but is now again set to move clubs in the upcoming transfer window.
Real Sociedad to bid for Juan Quintero
French daily newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Real Sociedad are hot on the trail of FC Porto midfielder Juan Quintero.
La Real found themselves in the danger zone following the disappointing start to the season and new coach Eusebio Sacristan is already searching for winter reinforcements.
L’Equipe has learned that Real Sociedad plan to make a move on FC Porto starlet Juan Quintero, who is currently on loan at Rennes.
La Real plan to sign the Colombian on loan until the end of the season, but they first need les Bretons to let Quintero leave.
That is unlikely to prove a difficult task considering that 22-year-old has only made six appearances this season, while also clashing with Philippe Montanier’s coaching staff.
Not so long ago, Quintero was widely regarded as one of world’s hottest prospects, but he is still struggling to get his career back on track.
