German magazine Kicker is reporting that Bayern Munich are hot on the trail of Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte.
The Bavarians may need to sign another central defender in case Dante leaves the club and the French starlet is high on their wish list.
The only problem is that Athletic are referring all interested sides to a €50 million release clause, meaning Bayern will have no choice but to delve deep into their pockets if they want to recruit the 21-year-old centre-back.
Laporte came through the youth ranks at San Mames and has so far made a total of 84 La Liga appearances, scoring 2 goals in the process.
He is widely regarded as one of world’s most talented central defenders and has so far been linked with a number of high-profile sides.
Laporte is not expected to be moving clubs in the final days of the summer transfer window, but everything will depend on Bayern’s plans.
