Bayern Munich have had a long-standing interest in Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, but the two clubs were apparently far apart in their respective valuation of the player. The Bavarians reportedly chose Everton’s Amadou Onana as an alternative target to boost their defensive midfield option, but according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, they’ve made one last offer of Palhinha worth €45 to 46 million.
Bayern have no intention of increasing the offer, but it seems an agreement could still be found. Positive talks are being held between the clubs, and the Portugal international himself believes his move to the Allianz Arena will happen this summer, even though there are a few things left to be ironed out in terms of payment structure. Palhinha has already accepted Bayern’s contract proposal.
In the two years the 28-year-old has spent at Craven Cottage, he’s made a total of 79 appearances in all competitions for Fulham, scoring eight goals.
