Bayern München marched to an imperious ten-point lead in Germany with a 5-0 win against BV Borussia Dortmund while Bayer 04 Leverkusen moved fourth.

Fresh from their great escape against Getafe CF in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals on Thursday, Bayern were quickly into their stride against the side they will face in the German Cup final next Saturday and they stormed into a four-goal lead inside 22 minutes.

Lukas Podolski gave Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side the perfect start with a goal after just three minutes and the advantage was quickly doubled by Zé Roberto. Luca Toni, whose two late goals secured the away-goals success in Spain in midweek, added another double in the space of four minutes to flatten their mid-table opponents and the final scoring act came from Andreas Ottl (67).
