Bayern Munich host Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday evening, and are favourites to come out on top to take an aggregate lead for the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu in over a week’s time. Bayern have been outstanding in their own backyard this season while Real have leaked goals on the road which could make for an entertaining encounter.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich side made the final eight of the Champions League after finishing second in Group D. The Bundesliga giants were far more convincing in the last-16, thrashing Arsenal 10-2 on aggregate, and will fancy their chances on home soil – boasting seven consecutive wins in all competitions at the Allianz Arena.

As for the visitors, Real Madrid made the quarter-finals of the competition by sealing second place in Group F without defeat.
