Bundesliga behemoths Bayern Munich are determined to pip Borussia Dortmund to the signature of in-demand FC Koln star Jonas Hector, German media outlet Kicker has learned.
The 27-year-old will be allowed to leave Cologne if Billy Goats get relegated at the end of the season and his availability has already alarmed the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Serie A champions Juventus.
The German international will be available for transfer in excess of €8 million and such a bargain price has already launched a duel between two of Germany’s biggest clubs.
In an effort to beat their fierce rivals to the signature of Jonas Hector, the Bavarian giants have already made a contact with the player.
Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has approached Hector to make the club’s intensions clear and to test the waters ahead of a possible summer approach.
Jonas Hector is seen as a quality alternative for David Alaba who could leave the Allianz Arena in near future.
