Bayern Munich, Barcelona keep watch on Donny van de Beek

Spanish giants Barcelona and German heavyweights Bayern Munich are believed to be keeping close tabs on the latest Ajax sensation Donny van de Beek.

Two of Europe’s biggest clubs sent scouts to watch the talented prospect in action against Schalke last Thursday, according to reports from the German television channel Sport1, and were impressed with what they saw from the Ajax midfielder.

The 19-year-old was granted a starting berth due to the suspension of Lasse Schone and went on to make a big impression during the Europa League match.

Donny van de Beek already turned down a chance to join Bayern Munich in the past whereas Barcelona have been linked with the talented midfielder for quite some time. The hot prospect has made 24 appearances for Ajax first team this season, but is yet to grab hold of the starting place and is unlikely to be allowed to leave this summer.

Van de Beek is under contract in Amsterdam until 2020.
