Bayern Munich are interested in signing Raphael Varane from Manchester United in the January transfer window, according to SPORT. The report in the Spanish publication has claimed that Bundesliga champions Bayern are considering making a bid of €20 million for Varane.
Varane has been on the books of United since 2021 when he joined from Real Madrid. The Frenchman was one of the best defenders in the world during his time at Madrid, but his spell at Old Trafford has been mixed. The 30-year-old has struggled with injury problems, and he has not always been at his best.
The French defender has made six starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for United so far this season, scoring one goal in the process. Varane has also made three starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League for the Red Devils so far this campaign.
