Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have moved to deny claims made by German newspaper Bild suggesting goalkeeper Bernd Leno is joining the Bavarian side in January.
Bayern Munich have struggled in goalkeeping department this season.
The Bavarians’ first-choice shot-stopper Manuel Neuer has spent the majority of 2017 having broken his foot twice this year already.
His replacement between the sticks, Sven Ulreich, also has injury problems which forced Bayern Munich to recall formerly retired custodian Tom Starke knowing that Bayern’s third goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl is also unavailable.
All of this led to speculation that Bayern could pounce for Bayer Leverkusen shot stopper but the club sports director Hasan Salihamidzic was quick to reject the claims in a statement published on the club’s website.
Salihamidzic claims such reports are without foundation, adding that the Bavarians will take legal action against Bild.
Bayern Munich play relegation-threatened FC Koln this Wednesday and are standings at 1/16 to win.
