Bayern Munich have made contact with Chelsea to ask about the possibility of a transfer of Conor Gallagher, according to TalkSport. Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel, who coached Gallagher at Chelsea, appears keen to reunite with his former charge at Stamford Bridge as the club seek to bolster their midfield ranks.
Chelsea made several big-money signings in the middle of the park over the last two transfer windows. Most notably, they paid well over £200 million for Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, and Gallagher’s chances of regular game-time at Stamford Bridge have consequently diminished.
Liverpool have been credited with strong interest in Bayern’s Ryan Gravenberch, and if the young Dutchman leaves, the Bundesliga champions will need a replacement. That’s where Gallagher would come in.
Meanwhile, Bayern and Chelsea are also said to be discussing a potential deal over defender Trevoh Chalobah, whom the Bavarians see as a potential replacement for Inter Milan-bound Benjamin Pavard.
