Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to keep hold of Alphonso Davies, who has been of strong interest to Real Madrid and a number of other clubs across Europe. However, the talks between the Canada international and the Bundesliga champions have become “complicated”, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany.
The 23-year-old left-back is apparently demanding a salary of €10-13 million per year to put pen to paper, and Bayern, not being entirely satisfied with his performances this season, aren’t willing to pay him that much. And unless he lowers his demands, the Bavarians would potentially be willing to put him on the market at the end of the season, which obviously suits Real Madrid very much.
Davies’ current contract with Bayern expires in the summer of 2025, which means next summer is likely to be the last when they can hope to get a decent fee for his services.
Davies has so far made 21 club appearances this season in all competitions, recording three assists.
