Bayern Munich are interested in signing Illan Meslier from Leeds United in the January transfer window, according to RMC Sport. The report in the French new outlet has claimed that defending Bundesliga champions Bayern have identified Meslier as a potential replacement for Manuel Neuer, who is injured at the moment.
Meslier is one of the best young goalkeepers in the Premier League and has established himself as the number one between the posts for Leeds. The Frenchman is only 22 years of age and could develop into a world-class player in the coming years. Meslier has kept 19 clean sheets in 90 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, but the West Yorkshire club are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. While it is unlikely that the Whites will be willing to sell their number one goalkeeper in the middle of the season, they could be tempted to cash in on him at the end of the campaign.
