German champions Bayern Munich are hot on the trail of Schalke starlet Leon Goretzka, Sport Bild has learned.
The Bavarians plan to rejuvenate the ageing squad in the summer transfer window and they are expected to add several talented youngsters to their ranks.
Sport Bild understands that Schalke’s Leon Goretzka has emerged as one of their primary targets, partly due to the fact that his contract with the Miners is due to expire in a year’s time.
The talented footballer has been one of club’s star performers this season, scoring 5 goals and producing 2 assists in 27 Bundesliga appearances.
Having failed to reach an agreement over a new contract with Schalke, Goretzka is widely expected to leave the club for greener pastures at the end of the season, and Bayern appear to be the early favourites for his signature.
