German champions Bayern Munich are hot on the trail of Benfica full-back Nelson Semedo, A Bola has learned.
The Bavarians see the 22-year-old as a good long-term successor to Philipp Lahm and they clearly have plans to bring him to Allianz Arena in the near future.
Bayern Munich scouts have watched Semedo in action on several occasions this season and they were present at the FC Porto vs Benfica derby at the weekend.
The Bavarians deployed the similar strategy before recruiting Renato Sanches, so there is a good chance the talented footballers will be reunited in Munich.
Nelson Semedo is a right-sided defender who has already shown a great deal of potential at Estadio da Luz, making a total of 22 league appearances and scoring 2 goals.
Even if Benfica decide to sell, the youngster will not be available on the cheap given that his contract runs until June 2021 and contains a €60 million release clause.
