Sport Bild has moved to reveal that Renato Sanches’s desire to secure regular playing time wasn’t the main reason why he left Bayern Munich this summer.
The Portuguese footballer joined Swansea City on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day, and he now has a chance to get his career back on track.
However, Sport Bild claims that the main reason why Bayern allowed Sanches to leave on permanent basis was his unprofessional behaviour during pre-season.
Namely, the 20-year-old was late to several training sessions and once even missed a flight and subsequent team training.
But, while Carlo Ancelotti opted against punishing the midfielder, the club chiefs were furious with his behaviour, which sped up his summer exit.
This means that the player’s long-term future at Allianz Arena is also in doubt as the Bavarians notoriously have little patience for players who disregard the club’s code of conduct.
