Bayern Munich have handed promising 16-year-old goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl a new long-term deal and promoted him to the club’s first team.
Fruchtl first started training with the Bavarians’ senior side in the closing stages of the 2015-16 campaign and new coach Carlo Ancelotti has opted to keep the youngster as part of his squad.
Bayern confirmed in an official statement that the ‘keeper will serve as fourth choice for the Bungesliga champions behind Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich and Tom Starke this season.
