According to a recent report from Sport Bild, German champions Bayern Munich are not going to be diving into the January transfer window head first in search of a Sule replacement. Instead, their plan of action seems to be putting their trust into veteran defender Jerome Boateng.

The Germany international was said to be on the verge of leaving the club during the recent summer transfer window, but instead, they decided to part ways with Mats Hummels. Boateng’s form has dropped over the last few years alongside many of the old guard that Bayern fans had come to know and love, but now, it would appear as if the Bundesliga champions are willing to give him another shot.

Regardless of whether or not he succeeds, though, it still feels as if his time with Bayern will be coming to a gradual end within the last 12-18 months at the very least.
