The crow jewel of Hamburg’s emerging new generation Jann-Fiete Arp has been widely expected to leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the season.
German giants Bayern Munich have emerged as frontrunners in Jann-Fiete Arp race in front of the host of other European top sides.
Arp is one of the most promising attacking prospects on the planet and Hamburg are facing an uphill battle to try and keep him past the current campaign. His contract expires in 2019 and a sale this year might be the last chance for relegation-threatened Hamburg to make a profit of their precious property.
The latest German reports, however, bring a promising piece of information for Hamburg supporters, claiming that new coach Christian Titz could be a decisive factor in Hamburg’s attempts to tie Jann-Fiete Arp to a new contract.
Titz replaced Bernd Hollerbach at helm earlier in March and he seems to have made it his top priority to try and keep the talented 18-year-old around for a bit more, despite the heavy interest.
Arp already worked with Titz in his youth days and could be persuaded to remain at Hamburg and continue his development instead of leaving in the summer.
