Robert Lewandowski is angry, but it’s difficult to tell what he’s angry about. One day he’s complaining that his teammates aren’t supporting his Golden Boot quest, and the next he’s feeling over worked. In response Bayern Munich, the club currently paying him to complain, have registered an interest in Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to the Metro.
Perhaps there is some truth to Lewandowski’s complaints however as he has started all 11 of Bayern’s Bundesliga games this season, scoring 11 times in the process. Add to that three starts and a goal in the Champions League and what I see is a striker in good form, not one who’s playing too much.
Giroud meanwhile has appeared in all but one of Arsenal’s Premier League fixtures, but all of those have come from the substitute’s bench. The Frenchman has played the full 90 minutes in all three of the Gunners’ Europa League games however, scoring twice, but it is often his form for France that earns him respect.
Should the forward make the move to Munich he will likely continue his trend of coming off the bench, which perhaps won’t help Lewandowski out as much as he hopes.
