According to The Telegraph, Bayern Munich are preparing an offer for the services of Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
The stock of the 22-year-old Netherlands international has risen greatly since his €20million move to the Amex from Anderlecht in 2023, particularly when he helped his national side reach the semifinals of Euro 2024. Bayern have been monitoring his progress carefully as they seek a long-term successor for Manuel Neuer.
Neuer has suffered a muscle tear and there are no indications to suggest when he might be back in action. But regardless of the potential date for his return, the Bavarians are aware, of course, that the former Germany international has turned 39 and they appear to have finally accepted the fact that they need a new first-choice goalkeeper.
Having shared the goalkeeping duties with Jason Steele upon arriving to the Amex, Verbruggen has established himself as the men regularly starting between the posts for Brighton. This season, he’s made 31 appearances in all competitions so far, keeping eight clean sheets.
