Bavarian giants Bayern Munich’s chairman has said that his club has not done a deal to sell France winger Franck Ribery to Real Madrid next season.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was responding on Wednesday to a report in Spanish sports daily Marca that Madrid has already secured Ribery’s services for next season.
He also was asked by Munich’s Abendzeitung newspaper whether Ribery’s name came up when Bayern bought Arjen Robben from Madrid.
The Spanish club “asked whether there was a chance to get Ribery now. My answer was: No,” Rummenigge told the German newspaper.
“We also have made no agreement to sell Franck to Real Madrid next season – that’s a fact.”
There has been speculation over Ribery’s future for months. His contract with Bayern is due to expire in 2011.
