Bayern Munich have started negotiating with Hansi Flick over his potential return to the Allianz Arena dugout, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany. The 59-year-old coach is believed to be open to the idea of going back to Bayern, the club he led to consecutive Bundesliga titles before spending two years in charge of the German national side.
In July 2019, Flick started working as Niko Kovac’s assistant at Bayern, but the former Croatia international lasted at the club only until November that year, and Flick was given a chance to be the main man in the dugout. Apart from the two titles in the German top flight, he was also the man who orchestrated Bayern’s Champions League triumph in 2020.
Though keen to see Flick back in his old job, Bayern are believed to be preparing for all eventualities, which means they have their list of backup options ready, just in case.
