Bayern Munich chiefs are preparing a new long-term deal for star striker Mario Gomez, Bild understands.
The German international has just over a year left on his current deal and the Bavarians are eager to persuade him into signing a contract extension.
Talks with Gomez’s representative are scheduled for next week and the agreement should be reached before the end of the season.
The Bundesliga giants want the striker to sign a four-year extension to his current deal, in which case the player would be tied until June 2017.
Bayern also plan to increase his salary to €7 million per campaign, which would make Gomez one of the highest paid players at the club.
The 26-year-old somewhat struggled at the start of his career at Alianz Arena, but has since managed to develop into a key player for the Bavarians.
After bagging 28 goals in the previous Bundesliga campaign, Gomez has scored 18 goals in just 20 Bundesliga appearances this season.
