Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are stepping up their efforts to sign Algerian full-back Faouzi Ghoulam from Napoli, Il Corriere dello Sport has learned.
The highly rated footballer is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Azzurri despite the fact that his current contract expires in June 2018.
Napoli chiefs have no plans to match Ghoulam’s demands for a salary of €2.5 million per season, which would be three times what he is earning at the moment.
And with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich keen on his services, a summer exit is a realistic possibility.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims that the Bavarians head coach Carlo Ancelotti has already informed the Algeria international that he will try and agree a deal for his services in the summer transfer window, while Real Madrid are also expected to come forward with an official proposal.
Faouzi Ghoulam, 26, has spent last three years at Stadio San Paolo, making 87 league appearances.
