Bayern are weighing up a move for Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes, German newspaper Bild has revealed.
The Bavarians are keen to reinforce the squad after what was a very disappointing season and club’s technical department is already working on new signings.
Xherdan Shaqiri, Dante Bonfim and Tom Starke have agreed to join Bayern at the end of the season, whereas Claudio Pizarro is expected to follow.
Bild now claims that Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes could be the next player to arrive at Alianz Arena.
The source reveals Bayern are ready to offer €5 million plus right-back Rafinha in exchange for the highly rated centre-back.
The offer could be very tempting to Schalke seeing that they still value the Brazilian highly after he spent five very successful years at Veltins Arena.
Benedikt Howedes, who is expected to make final Germany squad for the Euro 2012, is believed to be tempted by the prospect of joining the Bundesliga giants.
