La Liga champions Barcelona’s attempts to lure the 18-year-old Bayern Munich wunderkind Timothy Tilman was personally rebuffed by the club president Uli Hoeness, the German media outlet Sport Bild has revealed.
The talented attacking midfielder joined Bayern from Greuther Furth back in 2015 for a reported fee of €500,000 and has since then attracted plenty of attention from Europe’s top clubs with his commanding displays in the UEFA Youth League.
Even though the youngster has been included in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, Timothy Tilman is yet to make a senior appearance for the Bavarians. However, the Germany heavyweights have big plans for their youngster and want to hold on to the player they regard as the future star.
Barcelona recognised the talent and spent five months keeping a close eye on the Germany international, before making an official official approach towards the player.
A deal was rejected however and a move away from Allianz Arena vetoed by the Bayern Munich president.
