Bayern reject Inter approach for Benatia

German magazine Kicker is reporting that Bayern Munich have informed Inter Milan that defender Mehdi Benatia is not for sale.

The Nerazzurri were ready to give the Moroccan an opportunity to return to Italian Serie A and they recently established the initial contact with the Bavarians.

However, Bayern have made it clear they have no intention to sell having been quite satisfied with the player’s debut season at Allianz Arena.

Mehdi Benatia joined the club in a €26 million deal from AS Roma last summer, and he in turn made a total of 24 competitive appearances for the club.

After initially struggling for playing time, the centre-back nailed down a regular starting berth at Dante’s expense, forming a good defensive paring with Jerome Boateng.

Bayern officials clearly have confidence in his abilities, as witnessed by their decision to reject the approach from Inter Milan without even waiting to learn more about the offer.
